در طول دو دهه گذشته، اخلاق رهبری موضوعی به سرعت در حال گسترش در مطالعه رفتار سازمانی بوده است. این زمینه به طور قابل توجهی به درک ما از رفتار نادرست در محل کار کمک کرده است و آسیبی که چنین رفتارهایی به اعتماد و شهرت رهبران و سازمان ها وارد می کند را آشکار نموده است[1]. در این راستا نظرسنجیهای گالوپ نشان میدهد که فساد اداری شدیدترین مشکل جهانی در بیش از صد کشور جهان است[2]. رهبری اخلاقی بر نگرشها، رفتار و عملکرد کلی سازمانی کارکنان تأثیر مثبت میگذارد. مفهوم رفتار شهروندی سازمانی نیز یکی از مفاهیمی است که توسط تفکر اداری معاصر تولید شده است و به دلیل سهمی که در ارتقای افراد و سازمان ها دارد، مورد توجه نویسندگان و محققان قرار گرفته است. رفتار شهروندی سازمانی یک ویژگی مطلوب برای بخش درمان برای ارتقای بیمارستان ها و تلاش مجدانه برای ارتقای رتبه آنها در یک محیط بسیار رقابتی است. رفتار شهروندی سازمانی به ارائه رفتارهای مختلف نقش اضافی مربوط می شود[3].
