چکیده: انتشار کتاب «نظریهای در باب عدالت» (Rawls, 2005) جان رالز در سال 1971 را میتوان سرآغاز رونق دوباره اندیشههای لیبرالی در فلسفه سیاسی محسوب کرد. این اثر جدا از آنکه باعث گردید جان رالز به برجستهترین فیلسوف سیاسی زمانهاش تبدیل شود موجب شد که «آنچه نقد اجتماعی لیبرالیسم»(مکنزی و دیگران، 1375: 65) خوانده شده را از اوایل دهه 1980 مشاهده کنیم. از لحاظ سنت فلسفی جان رالز تحت تاثیر کانت بوده و به عنوان یک فیلسوف نوکانتی کوشیده است از آن دیدگاه یکی از پیچیدهترین مسائل فلسفه سیاسی یعنی مسئله «عدالت» را به گونهای متفاوت بازگو کند. بیانی که میتوان آنرا تلاشی برای تعامل آموزههای لیبرالیسم و سوسیالیسم دانست. اهمیت و برجستگی آموزههای سیاسی رالز از سویی و نقد وی از لیبرالیسم باعث گردیده که تبیین و بررسی آرای این متفکر برجسته دست مایه این پژوهش قرار گیرد.

John Rawls’s System of Thought: Origins and Findings

Abstract: Publication of John Rawls’s A Theory of Justice in 1971, can be considered as a prelude to revive liberal idea in political philosophy. This work, apart from that made Rawls the most prominent political philosopher in his time, it led to what is called “social critique of liberalism”, which we observed from the early of 1980s. According to philosophical tradition, Rawls was influenced by Kant, and as a neo-Kantian philosopher, he has attempted to represent “justice” differently, as one of the most complex issues in political philosophy, an attempt which can be considered as an interaction between Socialism and Liberalism. In one hand, importance and salience of his political doctrine, and in another hand his criticism of Liberalism, both have caused in this research, we try to explain and review the ideas of this outstanding thinker.
